7th suspect arrested in Tangipahoa Parish drive-by shooting investigation

Responding deputies learned a man getting items out of his car was shot at by multiple people driving by the home.

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office has arrested the seventh suspect in connection with a drive-by shooting in Roseland earlier this month.

Khyle Deitch was taken into custody by the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office on Tuesday night. 

Deitch was charged with the following: one count each of Attempted Murder of a Witness, Obstruction of Justice and Intimidation of a Witness.

Here are the five other men and women who were already arrested:

  • Broderick Coleman, 19 of Roseland, has been booked on one count each of Attempted First Degree Murder of a Witness, Obstruction of Justice and Intimidation of a Witness
  • Randall "Cole" Brewer, 32 of Kentwood, has been booked on the same charges but also an additional count of Resisting an Officer by Flight on Foot
  • Jermaine Henderson, 45 of Roseland, has been booked on the same charges but also two additional Intimidation charges and one count each of Solicitation of Murder, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Schedule I Drugs and Possession of Schedule III Drugs.
  • Patricia Kirby, 18 of Roseland, Mason Otero, 21 of Roseland, and Justin Summerford, 27 of Amite, have each been booked on one count of Resisting an Officer by Flight on Foot
  • Khyle Deitch, 26 of Hammond, has a warrant out for his arrest for one count each of Attempted Murder of a Witness, Obstruction of Justice, and Intimidation of a Witness

Detectives say in the early morning hours of Monday, July 1st, a report of shots fired came in from the area around Church Street in Roseland. Responding deputies learned a man getting items out of his car was shot at by multiple people driving by the home. Fortunately, he was not hurt.

Through the investigation, detectives learned the victim was a witness in an ongoing homicide investigation and that the shooting attempt was part of a murder-for-hire scheme. Detectives quickly identified seven suspects in the case.  Detectives located and took the suspects into custody.
