NEW ORLEANS — The Louisiana Attorney General's Office announced the arrest of two New Orleans men in a pair of unrelated child pornography investigations.

According to authorities on Thursday, AG Liz Murrill's Cyber Crime Unit arrested both 22-year-old Jerred Franklin of Oak Creek Road and 76-year-old Richard Howard II of Nashville Avenue on Wednesday.

Franklin was taken into custody for allegedly violating two counts of distribution of pornography involving juveniles under the age of 13.

Howard was apprehended for allegedly violating eight counts of possession of pornography involving juveniles under the age of 13.

The state AG says agents initially got a tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

The arrests were a result of a joint investigation with General Murrill’s Cyber Crime Unit, U.S. Homeland Security Investigations, and the New Orleans Police Department.

Franklin and Howard were booked into the Orleans Justice Center.

The investigation is ongoing.
