NEW ORLEANS — A Langston Hughes student was arrested after a message was posted on social media threatening harm to the school community.
NOPD said they arrested a 14-year-old male student at their home Friday morning.
Officers said the student left the school on Thursday after an altercation with classmates.
School officials and a NOPD School Resource Officer said they found the student and brought them back to the school where he was suspended.
According to school officials, the teen took to social media Thursday evening allegedly posting threats to harm students.
Due to threats, Langston Hughes Academy announced a school closure for Friday, Nov.3.
The student faces one count of felony terrorizing and one misdemeanor count of intimidation and interference in the operation of schools.
