$50K Powerball ticket still not claimed

We didn't find the lucky person when we visited the gas station on Tuesday.

MANDEVILLE, La. — One person, who likely lives on the Northshore, could win $50,000, but only if they check their Powerball ticket. A winning ticket was sold at the Diaz Markt in Mandeville off Highway 59 and Lonesome Road for the January 20th drawing, but the prize has yet to be redeemed.

We didn't find the lucky person when we visited the gas station on Tuesday.

"I don’t buy lottery tickets. I wish I would’ve bought one here, though. I don't buy them because of the odds of winning, but somebody won," Don Dubuc said.

Many, though, are surprised the person has taken this long to claim the money pot.

"I would’ve gotten it the next day," Dominic Liberto told us.

While we didn't find the winner, those we did find daydreamed about what if.

"A lot of people know me and I think they could guess, a new boat a big new offshore boat," Dubuc said.

"My first thing would be to probably put it towards my granddaughter's education; I have three granddaughters," Ricky Siemann told us.

If the winner finds their ticket and claims their prize, they won't have to wonder what they'd spend the money on.

But they only have a month left, as they must claim it by 5 p.m. on July 18. So, if you ever go to the Diaz Market in Mandeville, you may want to look. The winning ticket matched four of the five white ball numbers and the red Powerball number. The winning numbers are 16- 31- 34- 47- 65, and the red powerball number was 10.
