United Airlines Adding Cancun to New Orleans Schedule

Now Four Airlines Serving Cancun, Mexico from New Orleans
United Airline introduces a four and half month run of direct flights from MSY to Cancun Mexico.

NEW ORLEANS -- United Airlines announces new non-stop service from Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) to Cancun, Mexico beginning May 9 through September 5.

Flyers will board a 737-800 or 737-900 type aircraft with either 16 or 20 business-class seats and between 138 and 159 economy-class seats.

The weekly Saturday flights are on sale now and will depart New Orleans at 8:33 a.m. with a 10:36 a.m arrival time in Cancun. The Mexico departure will be at 11:31 a.m. and will arrive in New Orleans around 1:30 p.m. Reservations cay be made now at www.united.com or by calling Customer Service at 1-800-UNITED-1.

Schedule for other airlines serving Cancun are listed below:

Delta Air Lines: The weekly flight will depart New Orleans on Saturdays at 8:35 a.m. and arrive in Cancun at 10:23 a.m. The return flight will depart Cancun at 11:10 a.m. and arrive in New Orleans at 1:08 p.m.

Branson AirExpress operated by Orange Air: The flights will depart New Orleans on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 1:30 p.m. and arrive in Cancun at 3:15 p.m. The return flight will depart Cancun at 11:00 a.m. and arrive in New Orleans at 12:45 p.m. on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Vacation Express: The flights will depart New Orleans on Sundays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 1:55 p.m. and arrive in Cancun at 3:55 p.m. The return flight will depart Cancun at 11:00 a.m. and arrive in New Orleans at 1:00 p.m.

Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, United Airlines is considered the world's largest airline when measured by the number of destinations served. With the addition of Cancun, United Airlines provides New Orleans with eight non-stop destinations, including United Airline hubs.

According to a statement from the New Orleans Aviation Board, Mayor Mitch Landrieu said New Orleans and MSY "are on a roll."

"We look forward to building on this success and partnership with United Airlines," said Landrieu, "And that means better service and better value for the people of New Orleans."

Airport Director of Aviation, Iftikhar Ahmad, said he believes this new international non-stop flight will provide easy and efficient access to a popular Mexico destination.
