DALLAS — Dallas native Sha'Carri Richardson has been full of viral moments lately.
From the no-sweat nail flick in the qualifying heats for the 100-meter, to the final look back as she passed the competition to win in the 4x100-meter relay gold, Richardson has managed to look impossibly cool while delivering world-class athleticism.
Her off-the-track celebrity has risen to the next level, too, taking photos with other Dallas legends.
Add this next moment to the Rolodex of reasons why we all love Richardson.
A video has gone viral that shows the Olympic gold and silver medalist entertaining a race against an ambitious, adorable 4-year-old girl. According to the girl's mother, who posted the video last week, this moment happened months ago while shooting an ad.
The girl's mother said in her post that her daughter showed up to the shoot and had no idea who Richardson was but took a liking to this "nice lady with mermaid hair." She also said she liked how "Miss Sha'Carri looked everyone in the face and had a big voice."
The 4-year-old loves to race and saw Richardson lacing up her cleats ... so the challenge was set.
As the two lined up on the track, the little girl HAD to make one crucial change first.
"I'm four," she exclaimed, as she changed lanes one to four.
Richardson gladly obliged.
Both ladies shot out of the gates, and Richardson pumped her arms as fast as she could and chopped her feet with fury. But ultimately, the fastest woman on the planet was no match for the young star.
Perhaps we've seen the beginnings of the next great track star. Or maybe it's just a memorable childhood moment with the nice mermaid hair lady. Regardless, this young lady now holds a special accomplishment very few can say: she beat Sha'Carri Richardson in a race.
