Country Flame closes, may reopen in Kenner

NEW ORLEANS — Popular French Quarter restaurant closed on Monday, but they may reopen at a new location.

A contractor told WWL Louisiana that Country Flame closed and that the owners may open another restaurant at a different location. The contractor could not provide any other details.

There were no signs or mentions of the closure on its door, website, or social media, but the Country Flame sign that hung above the entrance has been removed.

Mr. Ed’s Restaurant Group plans to open an eatery in the old Country Flame building at 620 Iberville Street. Owner of the NOLA restaurant group Ed McIntyre said they are looking to open "Mr. Ed’s Po-Boys" in 30 days.

He also told WWL that it is his belief that Country Flame could possibly reopen in Kenner.
