NEW ORLEANS — The city of New Orleans is known for having great food, and a recent Yelp list took notice of the seafood options.
Four local restaurants were featured on Yelp's Top 100 seafood spots.
"You’ll find the freshest catches—from award-winning crab soup to wild-caught rockfish, fresh-hauled blue crab, and dock-to-dine oysters—on Yelp’s Top 100 Seafood Spots 2024," Yelp said about the list.
GW Fins was the highest-ranked New Orleans restaurant, coming in at #44. The highest-ranked local restaurant was GW Fins at #44. Heard Dat Kitchen was right behind them at #45.
The other two New Orleans restaurants on the list were Castnet Seafood (#54) and Cafe Sbisa (#71).
Here's how Yelp made the list: This is a list of the top seafood spots in the US, according to Yelp. We identified businesses in the seafood category on Yelp with a large concentration of reviews mentioning “seafood,” then ranked those spots using a number of factors, including the total volume and ratings of reviews between January 1, 2001, and December 13, 2023. We included only 10 businesses per state for geographic diversity. When available, all businesses on this list have a passing health score as of December 15, 2023. If a business with multiple locations appears more than once on the list, we keep the highest-ranked location and mention the others in a footnote.
