Mandeville is a quiet suburb about 40 miles away from downtown New Orleans... not too bad of a commute compared to other big cities. Across the 24-mile Causeway, though, it's a whole different feel.
In Mandeville you'll find low crime, good public schools, decent roads and good job opportunities.
Safehome.org named Mandeville the safest city in Louisiana with a safety score of 81%. The groups SafeWise and HomeSnacks also ranks Mandeville near the top of their lists.

A great education for children, at no cost to the parents is also a huge draw and it's certainly a treat to not have to dodge pot holes around town!
So, if you're looking for the Mayberry of Southeast Louisiana, here you go! It’s close enough to enjoy all the culture New Orleans has to offer, but far enough away to get more bang for your buck.
