Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has always been known for her stylish wardrobe in her days from Hollywood, but apparently the royal family has been saying no to many of her outfit choices. Her often critiqued "boho-casual" style is not sitting well with many Brits and apparently not with the Queen either! The Queen, as it has been reported, has final say over all outfits worn by members of the royal family and can veto looks just hours before a public engagement.
According to a recent report from The Daily Mail, Meghan apparently tried to wear a stylish Stella McCartney tuxedo suit, a classic look she's sported many times, but was told no by royal style aides and her husband, Prince Harry. Notably, Harry's mother Princess Diana also wore a tuxedo look at one of her many royal engagements. Meghan’s oft-worn look with skinny-style pants and stylish flares has won her fashion accolades by some who say she's changing the stiff rules for the better. However, many others are saying though Meghan is trying to freshen up the royal style-guide, Prince Harry is still very traditional when it comes to outings. A source told the Daily Mail "Meghan is being told she needs to stop dressing like a Hollywood star and start dressing like a royal."
Apparently Harry isn't the only one who likes to keep it traditional. At a recent event, Meghan was told by the Queen's head stylist that Her Majesty would be wearing a hat, so Meghan was expected to do the same. Meghan ended up leaving her head uncovered and wore her hair completely down. Meghan also sparked waves of outrage in June when she wore a pale pink off-the-shoulder dress to the Queen's "Trooping the Colour" event. The outfit made headlines with many saying that she was deliberately trying to go against the royal rules of etiquette. What do you think? Is Meghan trying to shake things up too much and will it get her in trouble? Let us know your thoughts on the Daily Blast Live Facebook page.
