The Mystic Krewe of Barkus goes 'Pawsitively Pink' for Carnival season

The parade will be on Sunday, Feb. 4 at 2 p.m.

NEW ORLEANS — The Mystic Krewe of Barkus is going all pink this Mardi Gras. The all-dog parade was inspired by Barbie and named its theme "Barkus & Barbie: Pawsitively Pink!".

The krewe said they believe that dreams do come true and that "any dog can-ine be anything!". Barkus members are recruiting for its upcoming parade in February.

Barkus is a nonprofit organization founded to benefit animal organizations in New Orleans and the Gulf South area. The krewe is already in Carnival spirit, with a post on Facebook announcing its 2024 king and queen.
