NEW ORLEANS — New Orleans Police Department announced measures available to parents aimed at protecting children ahead of Mardi Gras.
Police officials said, identification bracelets featuring parents’ contact information will be passed out during parades.
“The lights, big floats and large crowds can be exciting for young children,” A statement from NOPD said. “During this time, it’s very important for parents to keep a close watch on their children.”
NOPD officials also named three locations where children can be found during the parades, what the department is calling a “Juvenile Lost and Found.”
Juvenile Lost and Found locations:
- St. Charles Avenue and Napoleon Avenue
- St. Charles and Jackson Avenue
- Canal Street and Baronne Street
The bracelets are optional for children.
