NEW ORLEANS — A float on the Krewe of Thoth parade knocked out power for nearly 300 people after it shot out paper streamers onto a transformer, near 4216 St. Charles Sunday night, according to NOLA Ready. NOLA Ready said Krewe of Bacchus will be delayed until power is restored.
NOLA Ready alerted customers around 6 p.m. that repairs were complete and Bacchus was rolling again.
Around 5:30 p.m. NOLA Ready sent an alert text to customers, notifying that " Crews are working to restore power to Milan & St Charles area after a float shot paper streamers onto a transformer. Expected repair time is 6:10PM".
This is second year in a row this has happened. Last year, a confetti cannon knocked out power between 1,500 and 2,000 buildings along the St. Charles Avenue parade route.
At 4:45 p.m. Entergy took to X, formerly known as Twitter to alert customers of an outage along the parade route.
