Flood advisory was issued for parts of southeast Louisiana Saturday due to heavy rain

The advisory was in effect until 10:30 p.m. for Orleans, Jefferson, Plaquemines and St. Bernard parishes.

NEW ORLEANS — A flood advisory was issued for a portion of southeast Louisiana, according to NOLA Ready Emergency Alert System.

The advisory was in effect until 10:30 p.m. for Orleans, Jefferson, Plaquemines and St. Bernard parishes.

Due to heavy rainstorms, officials said "minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage" areas can be impacted.

NOLA Ready said an additional 1 to 2 inches of rain was expected in the areas.

Other locations that may experience flooding include:

New Orleans, Chalmette, Timberlane, Harvey, Belle Chasse,
Marrero, East New Orleans, Metairie, Avondale, Jefferson,
Gretna, Westwego, Arabi, Terrytown, Meraux, Woodmere, Violet,
Estelle, Bridge City and Lakefront Airport.
