METAIRIE, La. — The Causeway Police Department reported a vehicle fire on the northbound bridge of the Causeway over Lake Pontchartrain on Wednesday afternoon.
Total Traffic New Orleans posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) that the incident occurred approximately 3:40 p.m. and involved a Jeep in the far right lane near mile marker 11.
Both northbound lanes reopened at 4:45 p.m. following an hour closure.
