NEW ORLEANS – Firefighters are trying to determine why a fire started at a construction site in Central City Friday morning.

According to New Orleans Fire Department Chief Tim McConnell, the fire happened around 7:44 a.m. near the intersection of First and Freret streets. Firefighters arrived at the scene in three minutes and found that the fire had spread to the attic of a commercial building that was under construction.
