NEW ORLEANS — A two-alarm fire erupted at the Parc Fontaine Apartment Complex in Algiers Saturday night and now four residents are displaced.
According to the New Orleans Fire Department, fire crews arrived on the scene at 8:55 pm to find a fire at an apartment in the 3100 block of Rue Parc Fontaine.
A bottom apartment in a six-apartment section was heavily involved in the fire.
An NOFD report says one adult told fire officials that he woke up to the smell of smoke
from the washroom. When he opened the door, heavy smoke and fire filled the washroom.
A neighbor, living in the apartment next door had smoke and water damage in his apartment. The fire was contained in the one apartment where the fire started.
No one was injured in the fire. The American Red Cross was notified to assist the displaced residents.
